The software layer here is thin: a media kit page, a deal pipeline, some invoices and reminders. The part that matters is on the other side of the table, meaning actual brand relationships, inbound demand, and rate data from deals that already closed. An agent can build you a very tidy place to track sponsorships you do not have yet. It cannot tell you what a 40k-subscriber tech channel really gets paid for a 60 second integration, and it cannot make a marketing manager email you. Build the tracker if you want, but do not confuse it with the thing being replaced.

# WithJuly indie build

## Goal

Build the smallest trustworthy replacement for the core WithJuly workflow for one developer or a tiny team.

## Scope

A local dashboard with a public media kit page, a deal pipeline board, rate notes, deliverable checklists and payment reminders.

## Quick start

1. Install the documented dependencies.
2. Copy `.env.example` to `.env`.
3. Run the development command chosen during implementation.
4. Complete the acceptance checks in `BUILD_PLAN.md`.

## Honest limits

This build deliberately does not replace:
- Inbound brand demand: no deals arrive because you built a pipeline
- Benchmark rate data from real closed deals across comparable creators
- A human or process pushing negotiation and follow up on your behalf
- Brand-side trust, contracting and payment collection when a sponsor goes quiet
- Deal terms review, exclusivity and usage-rights sanity checks

If those capabilities are essential, use WithJuly instead of pretending the gap is solved.

why people still pay

Creators do not pay for the pipeline UI, they pay for deal flow and for not being the one who has to email a brand asking where the money is. The rate data is the quiet second reason: knowing that similar creators charged more is worth several times the subscription on a single negotiation. Both of those are byproducts of volume that already flowed through the platform, and no amount of good code manufactures volume on day one.

what you lose

xInbound brand demand: no deals arrive because you built a pipeline

xBenchmark rate data from real closed deals across comparable creators

xA human or process pushing negotiation and follow up on your behalf

xBrand-side trust, contracting and payment collection when a sponsor goes quiet

xDeal terms review, exclusivity and usage-rights sanity checks

prior art · use these instead of building, if you'd rather

Nothing worth pointing at. That's why the prompt exists.

questions
Vibecode WithJuly

Not really. WithJuly's value is not the code: The moat is deal flow plus a private history of what brands actually paid, and neither ships with your repo. See the honest breakdown above.

How much does WithJuly cost?

WithJuly's pricing is usage-based or varies by plan · Page states 'Our minimum plan is $50/month' and '+$6/mo per creator, Billed Quarterly', but the per-manager base prices for Essentials/Pro/Growth are client-rendered and absent from the fetched HTML..

What do I lose by replacing WithJuly?

Honestly: Inbound brand demand: no deals arrive because you built a pipeline; Benchmark rate data from real closed deals across comparable creators; A human or process pushing negotiation and follow up on your behalf; Brand-side trust, contracting and payment collection when a sponsor goes quiet; Deal terms review, exclusivity and usage-rights sanity checks. If any of those are load-bearing for you, keep paying.

Is there an open-source alternative to WithJuly?

No mature open-source alternative worth pointing at, which is exactly why the one-shot prompt on this page exists.
