The visible zooming presentations loop is buildable, but a credible replacement needs more than the first screen. Prezi earns its keep through interaction polish, collaboration, so expect a weekend or multi-day build and a narrower personal scope.

# Prezi indie build

## Goal

Build the smallest trustworthy replacement for the core Prezi workflow for one developer or a tiny team.

## Scope

Build a browser-based zooming presentations editor with drag, resize, connect, keyboard shortcuts, autosave, and SVG or PNG export.

## Quick start

1. Install the documented dependencies.
2. Copy `.env.example` to `.env`.
3. Run the development command chosen during implementation.
4. Complete the acceptance checks in `BUILD_PLAN.md`.

## Honest limits

This build deliberately does not replace:
- presentation and enterprise controls
- production codecs, rendering speed, and media templates
- multiplayer cursors and comments
- large template libraries
- high-fidelity import and export

If those capabilities are essential, use Excalidraw instead of pretending the gap is solved.

why people still pay

Prezi: The shapes are easy; customers pay for low-friction editing, reliable exports, collaboration, and a canvas that never fights them.

questions
Vibecode Prezi

Kinda. The core of Prezi is buildable in a weekend with the prompt on this page, but there are real gaps: presentation and enterprise controls, production codecs, rendering speed, and media templates. Read the honest list above before committing.

How much does Prezi cost?

Prezi's pricing is usage-based or varies by plan · The official pricing URL is recorded, but a stable current amount was not safely recoverable in this pass. Do not publish a number until rechecked..

What do I lose by replacing Prezi?

Honestly: presentation and enterprise controls; production codecs, rendering speed, and media templates; multiplayer cursors and comments; large template libraries; high-fidelity import and export. If any of those are load-bearing for you, keep paying.

Is there an open-source alternative to Prezi?

Yes: Sozi (A real zooming presentation editor built around SVG canvases and camera paths; less collaborative, less glossy, and blessedly free of a monthly bill.) The prompt is for when you want it exactly your way.
